iPhone 5 Review: Is iPhone 5 Right for You?

iPhone 5 unveiled

Finally and with no surprise Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone, iPhone 5. Here's what it is: a strong improvement to the iPhone 4S that offers up a larger screen, 4G LTE speeds, iOS 6 and a terrific camera. These are all exactly what rumors said before its announcement. But there's no doubt that the iPhone 5 is going to be a great, fast-selling smartphone. Let’s review the following great features of iPhone 5.

iPhone 5
A6: Faster and stronger

I think the most powerful improvement is that a new A6 chip is featured in the new iPhone 5. As Apple says, its speed is twice than that of the A5 chip in the iPhone 4S, and the all-new chip is not a power hungry. That means running apps and games will be faster much. Maybe the smaller size of A6 is none of your business but it needs less power and means much more battery life. Besides, this chip also offers graphics performance that’s up to twice faster. So you can enjoy all graphics-intensive apps and games.

In addition, with A6 working together, the iSight and iOS 6 will get more power to offer better user experience.

Thinnest and lightest iPhone with 4-inch display
Obviously, all rumors earlier about iPhone mentioned that the new iPhone will feature larger screen and possibly be thinner. No doubt this kind of appearance is the trend and all handsets manufacturers should keep up with the trend. 4-inch size of display may is not the biggest one because of the existence of Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note II. Luckily Apple makes its latest phone thinnest and lightest, which will be another unique selling point and for some Apple followers it saves less trouble than those larger screens. Similar to other flagships, iPhone 5 also boasts a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, with 1136 x 640 Retina display resolution. Moreover, it owns 44% more color saturation than previous iPhone models, but it could be beyond our human eyes and may looks similar to iPhone 4S.

4G with faster data connection

There is no doubt that LTE wireless technology is built for speed. And users of iPhone 5 will take good advantage of 4G networks. This is one feature of what all Apple fans expect and this time Apple makes it true.

Except for features above, there are still many improvements. However, they are just improvement not the knockout features to other competitor such as Samsung. Even all features are not fresh for consumers.

It is worthy for your money, but it is difficult to judge whether the iPhone 5 is right for you. After all, it is still a model from the press event and not real for now on.
